I wish we had Anna Hazare in Pakistan: Veena Malik

Actor-cum-model and participant of Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss 4 Veena Malik says that she wishes Pakistan had a social activist like Anna Hazare, who could inspire people to stand up against corruption.
Malik made the statement during an interview on Thursday while shooting for her upcoming Bollywood flick ‘Daal Mein Kuch Kala Hai’.
She said:

“Like I said before, I wish even we had a person like Anna Hazare in Pakistan. This is the reason that people, who were a part of that delegation, must have thought that if Anna Hazare stands for their cause, then it would be good for them. Because corruption is prevailing in Pakistan and the situation of the country is worse and we need a hero, whom we can follow.”
“If Anna Hazare initiates the campaign or the cause that he would uproot corruption in Asia or in some countries, then nothing can be better than this”.

Earlier, a two-member delegation ― former Supreme Court judge Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid and peace activist Karamat Ali ― visited Anna Hazare in his hometown Ralegan Siddhi to invite him to visit Pakistan.

Hazare accepted the invitation and said he would “like to visit Pakistan if it helped the anti-corruption movement there.”
Hazare had earlier carried out a 13-day ‘peaceful’ hunger strike against corruption in India. His protest focused on the anti-graft legislation known as the “Lokpal” (Ombudsman) Bill. Hazare broke his fast on the request of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who also gave in to his demands.
The social activist’s footsteps were followed by businessman turned social activist Raja Jahangir Akhtar and he also began a nine-day ‘fast unto death’ against the corruption in Pakistan.

Mumbai, Sept. 26: 

Producers Red Chillies Entertainment launched a custom-built movie channel on online video platform YouTube for Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming superhero film Ra.One.

The channel will also host games including the first social game from India. Goodies include contests where participants can create Ra.One promos from clips, music and dialogues of the film.

Mr Rajan Anandan, MD, and Vice-President - Sales and Operations, Google India, said, “In the last few years, Indian production houses have begun to embrace the YouTube platform to engage fans, distribute movies and leverage rich media ad formats to promote their movies online.” YouTube now claims over 22 million unique users in India.

In a statement, Mr Khan said, “I wanted to leverage the full potential of digital media and create an experience on YouTube and Google+ that has never been done for any Indian film.”

YouTube has worked with Hollywood productions in the past to create customised viral campaigns, including Expendables and Skadoosh!! Kung Fu Panda 2.

An offensive joke on actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan cracked by Indo-Canadian stand up comedian Russell Peters in Delhi on Thursday threatened to sour the relationship between actor  Akshay Kumar and the Bachchan family. Until Akshay picked up the phone and made peace with Ash’s husband, Abhishek.

Akshay came under attack from outraged fans last week because it was he who hosted Russell Peters at a publicity event for his home production Speedy Singhs. Peters poked fun at Aishwarya’s acting ability, as well as her pregnant status. “What really angered people was that Akshay did not stand up for Ash when the really crude and uncalled remark was made by Peters, even though they have worked together and known each for so long,” said a source.

Ash’s fans expressed anger online, and Akshay ended up calling Abhishek. “As Russell was his guest, Akshay felt he should say something. Abhishek and he spoke, and Abhishek told him that he did not feel Akshay was at fault in anyway, and that Peters should be the one to apologise,” added a source
