The Bollywood legendary star Amitabh Bachchan, has been confirmed to join the cast and star in the upcoming periodic drama movie ‘The Great Gatsby’.
The Indian legendary actor, Amitabh Bachchan will join the cast of the movie along with ‘Titanic’ star, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Isla Fischer and Carey Mulligan. As per the reports, he will play the role of Meyer Wolfsheim, a mysterious man, who helps Jay Gatsby to get his fortune. The news of his casting was mentioned by Amitabh himself on his blog saying that, time has been spent well in Australia and the fore coming days will confirm, if the spent time was prolific.
The 68-year-old Indian actor also mentioned that, ‘The Godfather’ directed by Francis Ford Coppola, is his favorite movie and added that, he saw that movie, while he was filming his classic drama ‘Sholay’ in the year 1975. He went on saying that, he watched ‘The God Father’ trilogy back to back, curled-up in a couch, which was the director’s cut, which had the scenes that were not seen before. He said that, they were in London, filming Sholay’ and were desperate to watch the movie at the very first chance. They got a train and went to the venue, after they came to know that, the screening of the film is being held in an unknown theater, at a nearby town.
Baz Luhrman is the director of the periodic drama flick ‘The Great Gatsby’, which is being produced, with a budget of $127million. Also, the movie is being adapted in 3D. Joel Edgerton, Jason Clarke, Callan McAuliffe, Gemma Ward are the other star cast of the movie and is being expected to hit the theaters in the year 2012.
